“Society Without Violence” NGO has organized its next training on “Gender Equality and Domestic Violence” for Social Science teachers of Lori region. The participant schools were from Gugark, Spitak, Alaverdi cities and some villages.

Though the previous group of teachers was also from Lori region, the opinion on “Gender Equality and Domestic Violence” classes was radically different from the previous group’s opinion. The participants expressed conservative and stereotypic viewpoints not only on gender issues but also formal gender education mentioning that there is no need for such kind of classes in our schools.

“Solidarity Network for LGTBI in Armenia and Georgia” is an EU-funded project, implemented by the Heinrich Boell Foundation South Caucasus Regional Office and its project partners in Armenia (Society without Violence NGO and PINK Armenia) and Georgia (WISG and EMC). The aim of the project is to combat homophobia and ensure the respect of LGBTI rights in both countries.  

Within the framework of the project, Society Without Violence NGO will hold two 3-day capacity building training for CSOs, one in late July and another in September, to improve their knowledge about gender and LGBTI issues, equip them with new skills for effective advocacy, meet like-minded colleagues, build networks and acquire skills on including LGBTI issues in the organization’s agenda.
