Dear Reader,

It has been already 10 years that “Society without Violence” NGO carries out a series of activities in several regions of Republic of Armenia.

The vision of SWV is to have civil society without violence, society where the country will be governed by people adherent to true democracy values, people who respect and promote gender equality, society where there will be no space for violence against women.

Unfortunately, nowadays there are few people, who understand the principles of gender equality and try to contribute to its establishment. That is why; one of the objectives of our organization is the development of people’s notions on gender equality and raising their awareness, as well as to inspire them with steps made by our young activists directed to the breaking of gender based stereotypes and elimination of violence against women.

Դերասանուհու մասնագիտությանը մենք` հայերս, միշտ էլ թերահավատորեն ենք մոտեցել: Առհասարակ հայտնի է, որ դեռ հին ժամանակներում կանանց արգելվում էր խաղալ թատրոնում` պատճառաբանելով, որ դերասան լինելը կնոջ առաքելությունը չէ: 21-րդ դարում արդեն  աշխարհի շատ երկրներում դժվար թե առնչվես նմանատիպ խնդրի հետ. դրա մասին են վկայում օր օրի զարգացող կինոարտադրության արագ աճող տեմպերը, օսկարներն ու ոսկե գլոբուսները, և այլն: Իսկ արդյո՞ք Հայաստանում մեր հասարակության մոտեցումը փոխվել է…

Յուրատիպ մասնագիտություններ ունեցող կանանց հետ մեր հարցազրույցների շարքը շարունակելով` մենք ներկայացնում ենք մի մարդու, ում մասնագիտական գործունեությունն այս բնագավառում ունի շուրջ յոթ տարվա պատմություն: Չնայած, որ Աննա Կոստանյանը առաջին մասնագիտությամբ բուժքույր է ու աշխատել է Էրեբունի բժշկական կենտրոնի վերակենդանացման բաժնում, այնուհետև` Երևանի զինվորական հոսպիտալում, սիրով է խոսում իր երկրորդ` հանդիսավարի մասնագիտության մասին: Աննան նշում է, որ մոր հորդորով է դարձել բուժքույր, հետագայում սրտի թրթիռներից ծնված տողերը վերածվել են բանաստեղծությունների և այսօր զարդարում են շատ ու շատ նորապսակների հարսանեկան արարողությունները: Այժմ մեր հյուրը համատեղում է թե' բուժքրոջ, թե' հանդիսավարի մասնագիտությունները: Իր համոզմամբ՝ երկուսն էլ, լինելով բոլորովին տարբեր, ունեն նույն առաքելությունը. երկուսն էլ ազգանվեր են: Զրույցի վերջում համոզվեցի, որ Աննան իսկապես մեծ սիրով է անում իր գործը` ջանասիրաբար աշխատելով իր հայեցի տողերով գոհացնել բոլորին: Ստորև ներկայացնում եմ մեր զրույցը Աննայի հետ:

Women in Black History:

Women in Black is a world-wide network of women committed to peace with justice and actively opposed to injustice, war, militarism and other forms of violence. Woman in Black is a means of communication and cooperation.

Women in Black began in 1988 in Israel. In 1987, 20 years after Israel occupied the West Bank and Gaza, the Palestinian intifada began. Intifada is an Arabic word which means uprising or resistance. Inresponse Israeli Jewish women began to stand in weekly vigils in public places, usually at busy road junctions. Starting in Jerusalem, the number of vigils in Israel eventually grew to almost forty. In the north of Israel, where the concentration of Arab communities is greatest, Palestinian women who are Israeli citizens were also active in Women in Black groups.

By the time, in other countries, including Canada, the USA, Australia, UK, Serbia and many other European countries, Women in Black vigils soon began to be organized in support of those in Israel. In Berkeley, California, for example, Women in Black group has been standing on weekly basis since 1988.

Yes! It’s already 10 years that Society Without Violence NGO carries its activities. During these 10 years we have been educating hundreds of girls and young women from villages and remote cities, inspiring them to be active in the political, social, cultural life of the republic and empowering to become leaders, woman human rights defenders. All our efforts are for the establishment of gender equality and the elimination of violence from the society.

I couldn't imagine seeing a fragile Armenian girl while standing in Abovyan Street. The only thing that makes her differ from others is that she loves football very much. Qristine, who mentioned that friends call her Tina, is the ex-leader of the Armenian young football players’ team. Now she practices in the National women football team. It's a must to say that being lover of football, I was looking for our conversation with breathtaking emotions. Tina was just so talkative that even drew a football field for me and explained what is ‘’off side’’ in the game. Now Tina studies in the institute of Physical Studies faculty of kinesiology.
